Adam and Eve and the Forbidden Fruit of Knowledge
To state the obvious, we are all a product of sex. It is our life force and how we use this powerful energy affects almost every aspect of our lives. We are surrounded by images of sex, in TV, pornography and advertising. Sometimes it seems as though we are drowning in sexual imagery.
However upon closer examination, we find that people are not actually having much truly satisfying sex. People talk about it, they read about it, they see it on all forms of media. But compared to the past, people today are actually not “doing it” as much. Modern life surrounds us with images of “sexy” but it somehow does not make us more “sexual”. When we look at sexuality in today’s world, we see that the famous Sexual Revolution that started in the sixties has now stalled.
Living in a sexy but not sexual world is rather like having a diet of junk food. Superficially it is fulfilling but not on a deeper level. Lack of sexual satisfaction in people’s lives leads to what is known as sexual substitution. We engage in many behaviours such as compulsive shopping or even violence in order to fill the gap left by sex.
Sexual Equalism is a practical look at many of the problems facing society today and observing the politically incorrect connection of sex to it.
It is our central argument in this book that dysfunction in sexuality in certain aspects of human behavior are root causes in many of the problems we face around the world today. However, rather than bemoaning the state of affairs or simply describing the problems we suggest tentative ‘sensual enterprise’ solutions that work to address the issue and create employment!
In most cultures it is very very difficult to have open honest conversations or debates about human sexuality as it is practiced today around the world. This is one of our main intentions; to encourage rather than stifle debate. In other words, this is NOT a politically correct website!
